Seeing a need for energetic, nonprofit work in this area, we formed our organization to provide sensible solutions in support of the Diaspora and Malawi. Founded in Arlington, Texas in 2013, the Malawians in Texas Organization (MITO) is a non-profit organization that provides educational, agricultural, medical and general assistance to people in the African country of Malawi who have been affected by poverty, natural disasters, and civil unrest. Thanks to our generous volunteer network and financial contributions from individuals, Corporations and other organizations, Malawians in Texas Organization has worked with agricultural and education professionals and organizations on the ground and equipped them with the essential financial support and tools that they need to help people recover from disaster, poverty and illiteracy. Malawians in Texas also establishes partnerships with local organizations to provide agricultural education services to people in rural areas to apply effective and modern farming methods for better yields.

As you are aware, cyclone Freddy recent flooding in many parts of Malawi has caused widespread devastation and displaced thousands of families. Homes have been destroyed, businesses have been disrupted, and lives have been lost
This is MITO’s call to action to make a difference and help these families rebuild their lives.
Your donation, no matter how small, can go a long way in helping these families get back on their feet. It can provide them with shelter, food, and other critical supplies they need to survive.
